Looking for the Christian Blogs in the US? When faced with doubt, most Christians turn to Philippians 4:13 for courage. “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength,” the Apostle Paul wrote from prison in this chapter. ”A large number of Christian Blogs in the US address this but most of them fail to interpret the true meaning behind it.
Paul was put behind bars in Rome in AD 60, in Rome. The following two years he was put under preventive custody. It was the time when he wrote to local churches from prison.
The letters, on the other hand, attempt to uplift the Philippian Church, which was facing opposition from both the outside and the inside.
This is what inspired Paul to write about seeking "peace," "joy," and "contentment" in every situation, whether good or bad. As someone who was under house arrest, he had the authority to properly articulate these themes.
“We Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Gives Us Strength”
Even the most determined believers find it difficult to achieve a state of satisfaction or contentment. The thing about tough times is that they make us believe that there is no scope for joy. The verse is made famous by a lot of inspirational posters especially targeted towards athletes.
Oftentimes, people interpret this particular verse as; Jesus gives them the strength to achieve whatever they wish to achieve. It has time and again been used as a motivational quote on numerous posters and Christian Blogs in the US to inspire young athletes.
It undoubtedly is a coherent way to motivate oneself but it is not what Paul meant when he wrote it down in his letters to Philippians. “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength,” Paul says in Philippians 4:13 after this debate.”
In the NIV translation. it is written, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” The ‘this’ that Paul refers to is whatever the circumstance it may be, one can find contentment from the strength given by Christ.
This suggests that Paul looked to Jesus Christ for spiritual strength in order to find contentment in times of trouble and also in circumstances that were not favorable to him. It's a liberating sensation that brightens the heart and frees the mind from the pressures of unfavorable circumstances. Paul was persuaded that Christ's strength had aided him in his release from jail.
Paul revealed this to a few of his confidants and supporters, which now is shared by all Christians in the world through the medium of Christian Blogs in the US and continues to remain as relevant in modern times as it was initially read by the early church.
